Leanne Larson earned
her Bachelor of Science Degree from Michigan State University with
additional course work at Western Michigan University, Northern
Illinois University, University of Northern Iowa, Princeton and
Harvard. She has received training in curriculum development and
assessment from Robert Marzano, Susan Kovalik, Grant Wiggins, Jay
McTighe, Debra Pickering, and R. Stiggins among others and is certified
as a trainer for Dimensions of Learning.
Leanne has served on
the Curriculum and Instruction Council as the Middle School Science
Department Team Leader for Portage Public Schools for 26 years and
has taught physical, earth or life science in grades seven through
nine for 27 years. She has joined Dr. Robert Poel and Dr. Gary Blackmer
of Western Michigan University and teams from San Diego State University
and the University of Minnesotta, to write and field test for Constructing
Ideas in Physical Science, a National Science Foundation Grant project
for middle school science.
