These are only general instructions to get you started with the simulators. Detailed descriptions of each of the CPU simulators, as well as several tutorials, are provided in the folder entitled "CPU Software Guides."
1) Double-click on the Stationery Pad icon corresponding to the CPU simulator you want to open. |
2) Light and Color, Current Electricity, and Static Electricity and Magnetism Simulators ONLY: |
When the simulator is open, go to the Simulator Menu. |
Open the elements palette. This palette provides the elements you need to set up your virtual experiment. The example palette is from the Current Electricity simulator (CES). |
Open the control palette. Once you have set up your experiment, click on the arrow to run the simulation. Click on the parallel bars to stop it. |
Open the drawing palette. This palette provides you with simple graphics capability. For example, you can use these tools to label elements. |
3) Force and Motion Simulators ONLY |
Go to the Control Menu and select "Show Tools." The tools palette will appear, unless it was already visible when you opened the simulator. The F&M tools palette includes the drawing tools available in Dock'Em. It also has elements unique to Force and Motion. |
In the Simulator Menu, select "Show Clock." The clock performs the same functions as the control palette in the other simulators. It also functions as a clock, of course. |
